TRAIL WIND SCHOOL

3701 E. Lake Forest Dr.

Green and Burgundy – Home of the Pioneers

Trail Wind opened in September 1997. At that time, a throng of students, parents, staff, Boise School Board members, administrators and community members attended a dedication ceremony held on September 12, 1997.  Trail Wind was built, along with Shadow Hills Elementary School in northwest Boise, thanks to the community’s support of a bond election held in February of 1996.  Armstrong Architects created the elementary school design by combining traditional (rectangular) classrooms with the latest educational technology at the time.  For example, the school features a wide variety of multi-media equipment, such as a central network connecting all classrooms, multiple computers in each classroom, tack boards, and liquid chalk board systems.  A variable lighting system makes three lighting levels available in each classroom to facilitate various educational tasks.  In addition, energy management systems such as heating and cooling, security, irrigation and fire protection are electronically monitored and programmed from a central data system.  At 47,000 square feet, Trail Wind was built initially to support 20 classrooms for grades K-6.  The school was built with masonry and sloped roofs for energy efficiency and low maintenance.  Due to growth in southeast Boise, the school added a new classroom wing to accommodate more students in the year 2000. Trail Wind has a rich history of student success and is dedicated to educational excellence for each and every student.

Welcome to Trail Wind Elementary! I am incredibly honored to join this vibrant community as your Principal for the 2026-2027 school year!

I have heard so much about the Trail Wind Spirit, a culture defined by a community atmosphere and a deep commitment to our students. My primary goal is to honor and continue this special legacy while supporting the exceptional work already being done by our staff, students and parents.

I am looking forward to a year of collaboration and growth as we work together to ensure every child excels academically and feels valued and supported in our safe, welcoming school environment.
