This is the image for the news article titled Bridge Awards Assembly Honors Students Monday, January 29, 2018 was an amazing day for the Borah High School Bridge Team, as they honored over 20 of our 100+ Newcomers for their 1st semester accomplishments. Borah's Bridge program is a program-within-a-school program that provides an intensive English language program to limited and non-English speaking secondary students.

At the awards assembly, students were recognized for exhibiting Borah's and the Boise School District's 5 Core Values (Respect, Dignity, Honesty, Responsibility, Teamwork), in addition to Reading Improvement, Most Improved Overall, and Outstanding Attendance.

There was also a special guest presenter, Boise's own Mayor Dave Bieter. This is the Mayor's second time visiting the Borah Bridge program, having visited some of Borah's Bridge classes last Spring. He touched the hearts of all Borah Bridge students with his welcoming, open-hearted message: "Boise is a welcoming city and we want you here. You are the hardest workers. You are the future of this city and country." The Mayor even tweeted about the Borah Bridge Program (see tweet below).
